Wake up! Time to shop!
Well, you're awake from your food coma and the little gremlins inside your head are starting to nag: "Think of the sales. Think of the sales!" WWD reported last week that retailers aren't listening to the news and are gearing up for the best Black Friday this side of the recession! Tons of sales and incentives! Recent Project Runway alum and San Francisco native, Christopher Collins isn't a stranger to this sale. The sweetest, nicest Project Runway contestant in a very long time will be having a monster sale at his shop in SF today. Pieces up to 75% off! The shop is located at 1116 Sutter St. on the corner of Sutter and Larkin. I, dear read, will be there ;-)

Can't Decide
Can't decide what I hate more:
Ke$ha's hair for last night's US Weekly Party:
The fact that I have no money and can't run out to the Hmmm tomorrow to pick up some Lanvin for H&M:
Blah. This party sucks...

Morning Edition
Yesterday, Loehmann's filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Manhattan court. Two outside companies have agreed to invest in the firm in the first quarter of 2011. This will "preserve 1,900 jobs and the Loehmann's brand" (WWD).
Yikes!
No word yet on which (if any) of the Loehmann's branches will be closing. Better stock up on discount designer clothes while you still can. Or else you will be forced to find your Calvin Klein at Ross or worse - an outlet ;-)

WeAreBandits
I've been pretty obsessed with the band Memoryhouse as of late. Especially since I've started reading their blog - which is filled with the most beautiful photos and videos. Like this one:
Which makes me die a thousand tiny, lovely deaths.
Memoryhouse is classically trained frontman Evan Abeele and photographer-slash-vocalist Denise Nouvion. Originally the duo set out to create an audio-video art project with ambient music and Denise's photographs. They soon found out they loved making pop music together and the project took a different path.
The music combined with the photographs pins down EXACTLY how I'm feeling in my brain/heart/lungs right now. Here are a sampling of my favorite images from their website:

"If I had a boat, I would sail to you"
The non-official video for "If I had a boat." I'm in love with this song. Listen to the beautiful James Vincent McMorrow talk about his latest record here... I'm a sucker for boys with accents.

The Rest is Just Cake
Good morning kittens :-)
It's a brisk lovely monday and I'm listening to Memoryhouse (again) and doing homework. Which, including a latte, is pretty much the big plan for the day. Your plan should be burrowing into some issues of my fav new magazine Cake. Self described as an "indie, confused and sweet" magazine (hey! just like me!). Their magazine covers (below) initially caught my eye - they pretty much had me at hello.
