xLevisx

Check out Aylin Beyce's Bernal Heights pad:

Aylin is the collaboration designer for Levis in SF.  She's the one who is responsible for all the Opening Ceremony x Levis designs we are all coveting..  Or is it just me?

Anyway, how does one get such a cool job?

If you find out --- SIGN ME UP.  Cause mama needs a new pair of platforms!

Ain't Nobody Fresher

The Paris UO team of bloggers have it right - "Leave it to the team at Margiela to make a bodysuit we seriously all want to wear," and never take off.

Woodford

A few months ago I woke up with this song in my head.  Hey!  Don't judge!  So I proceeded to YouTube it and honestly, I was super into their outfits!  REAL TALK.  Awesome 90s layers of crushed velvet, embroidered vests, long coats and cut off shorts.

Recently, Aussie company Woodford & Co. came out with the lookbook for their Winter 2011 line.  It totally picked up where the video left off.  It made me want to embrace my inner hippie and kick it in Joshua Tree or some sh*t with a camel in tow.

Dude.  I need a sick leather half-vest with fringe like stat.

Idiot Savant

Arizona native, Feng Feng Yeh's (pronounced Fun Fun Yay) Spring Summer 2012 collection for her line Savant.

It makes me so happy I may go eat some Saturn and hang out with the girls - OH WAIT!  I'm going to do that anyway ;-)  Movie review of Bridesmaids to follow.

Catuesday

After I saw this mess - I thought I'd seen everything.  Until I went to Moderncat.  My new favorite/not-at-all cat blog for all things that tickle your catfancy.  For example:

In celebration of National Hairball Awareness Day (you can see where this is going can't you?), jewelry designer Heidi Abrahamson brushed her babies everyday and made felted "beads" from their fur.  She created earrings, a ring and a necklace from cat fur ('scuse me I just coughed up a hairball from reading this).

I mean, they're a nice design and all - But cat fur?  I'm just not quite sure I can go there yet.  You can love your pets, just don't love your pets...  Nuff said.

Check out other pretty feline propaganda here.  For example: this!

The Only Magic

Lately, all I've wanted to do is draw.

It's been a passion of mine since I was a wee lass and my mother taped pieces of paper to my high chair.  I haven't been able to stop creating since.

I did the damn thing at 18.  Went to art school - got disenchanted - dropped out - and reinstated myself at a school with a more socially aware slant.  It was hard to get away from being selfish.  Especially when you are a brat in your early 20s.

Many moons passed.

And here I sit, in between the vaudville and the quiet places.  Still drawing.  Doing it for a living and I feel pretty lucky - though it could always pay more ;-)

Today, I found a blog called THE ONLY MAGIC LEFT IS ART.

I agree wholeheartedly.  Here are some of my favorite selections from that blog:

Check out more beautiful lovelies here.

Motivational Music

dear winterbird
how long can you last
before it gets too cold
and the earth asks you back

dear bened bough
you're ready for the sun
the old man is leaving
a longer day's begun

suddenly i can see blue skies again
hear you say there's nothing less
that our hearts will mend
i promise you they do
