Sometimes known as ignis fatuus, the will-o'-the-wisp is a foggy light sometimes seen over swamps or marshes. It's produced when organic matter decays (or the "oxidation of phosphine and methane"). Through-out the years it has been the cause for many legends and folklore. It is said to be supernatural beings that are trying to lead traveler's astray. In other tales it marks the spot where treasure is buried.

Me Without You
Dear you:
Anyway - here is a section of our movie:
me without you.
I was thinking about you the other day. Then I heard this song and it solidified it. I really miss you.
If I called you would we have anything to talk about? Sometimes I think about it - 'spose I should probably just get around to it and dial the numbers ay?
Anyway - here is a section of our movie:
me without you.
I hope you are doing really well. And think of me fondly. I know we were competitive sometimes but I love you lots and wish you the best.

Scenes from a Class Struggle
For those of you who grew up with her but never noticed, I'd like to draw your attention to a very special lady.
The lady with a strapless dress who never has to re-adjust.
While those of us in the real world could never hope to find a Chanel suit in a thrift store. She reinvents hers at least a dozen times in order to fit in with her old peers. The cutting of a Chanel suit sacrilege is compensated by her creativity with it. I want to draw your attention to her innovation and stick-to-itiveness that prevail. The things she comes up with are really what make the episode special. For someone like myself who looks at the same dress everyday with disdain, I am challenging myself to take a Marge Simpson approach to things - See them in a new light and reinvent. You may find something there that you didn't see before.

Recently, while rewatching season 7, I came across the episode "Scenes from a Class Struggle in Springfield." This episode entails Marge trying to fit in with old class mates because of an old Chanel suit she finds at a thrift store.

You Can't Have It, But You Can Watch It Walk Away
For some reason there was a big hubub about Resort this year. Resort is supposed to be exotic vacation clothing for rich people. I, like Stella McCartney, think Resort is silly. It gives fashion more exclusivity and pretension.
However I was a big fan of YSL's extremely classic "spring" collection this year (aka Resort).
One may even conjure up images of YSL classic Le Smoking (from the first photo). This collection is diaphanous and timeless. But all-too Resort. Because I, on my student salary will never hope to own one of these babies. But I can certainly watch it walk away.

"I wear black, I drink white"
Was the quote sang by Michael Kors after accepting the Geoffrey Bean Lifetime Achievement Award last night at the CFDA awards. Other winners include Marc Jacobs for Womenswear Designer of the Year:
And rag and bone for Menswear Designer of the Year:
Not exactly who I would've voted for - but hey, we can't all play center field.

Nude As The News
While Barton is off jet-setting round the world - I am home in sunny (humid??) E-Bay California suffering through finals. One more week (and a half) and I'm done. Gawwhhdd - I can't wait for vacation...
But enough about me, here are some of the most exciting things happening right now in the world of fashion (in my humble opinion):
Iman wins the Fashion Icon award while Sarah Jessica Parker will be honoring the late Alexander McQueen at the CFDA Fashion Awards TONIGHT
DailyFrontRow predicts who will win.
Urban Outfitters scolded for selling an "Eat Less" t-shirt. YIKES.
The count-down for the premiere of True Blood season three
is so close I can taste it.
Where is Bill? When will the werewolves show up? Inquiring minds want to know!

Igor+André
I love to draw. It's one of my favorite things. One of my other favorite things? Blogging. Now if only there was a way to combine the two?... It would reign supreme like the greatest partnerships of all time: peanut butter & chocolate, sonny & cher or eating beans and getting gas!
Californian artist Danny Roberts does just that (the drawing and blogging - not the gas) and is actually getting recognition for it! His recent blogger portrait series is so popular - Forever 21 is putting it onto t-shirts! Wear the likenesses of Louise Ebel, Caroline Engman or (personal fav) Geri Hirsch!
Buy these nationwide on June 2nd (umm, tomorrow!).
