it hurts to look at you

Reunited at Elle's Fashion Awards after 15 years:

SoooOoo. There are fashion blogs about the styles of Roseanne, the Baby-Sitter's Club, etc. So I thought I'd take a moment to appreciate the the pop-phenom that shaped my formative years. Annnd my hairstyle for much of high school.

In no uncertain terms, my so called life:

Over-sized flannels, doc martens, thermal, LAYERS, liquid eyeliner, military, crushed velvet, braids, floral babydolls, crimson glow, crochet, denim vests, candy necklaces and MORE flannel. Brilliance doesn't even begin to cover it.

"Sometimes it seems like we're all living in some kind of prison. And the crime is how much we hate ourselves. It's good to get really dressed up once in a while. And admit the truth: that when you really look closely? People are so strange and so complicated that they're actually... beautiful. Possibly even me."

It's sacrilege to think I haven't mentioned this before...
