Normally, I'm not a big fan of Elle. So sue me? But recently my attention was drawn to the UK Autumn/Winter 2010 Collections issue. Umm, can I just say cray amaze?
The issue has such a fresh take on a season of fashion, dabblers and spectators alike would be interested.
Let me be the first (or second) to recommend the 1966 french fashion spoof called "Who Are You Polly Maggoo?" It opens to an avant-garde fashion show built into this weird artsy paper-machê house. The show is successful only after the acclamation of the fancy magazine editor (Aww, Anna!). The show boosts one particular model (can you say Maggoo?) into an instant fashion icon. Lots of other hijinks ensue. But you'll have to see it for yourself. Here are a few of my favorite images from it:
"Got a vagina, but don't want anyone to know? Check out the aptly named "Camelflage," a pair of $19.99 panties that have a built-in guard that smooths out your business. It's kind of like a nut cup for women (a taco shell, perhaps?) and is supposed to protect you from embarrassing moments where your vagina gets in the way of you having Barbie-parts. Though, here's an idea. If you're really horrified about the idea of cameltoe, how about you don't wear pants that give you cameltoe?"
I've never stolen anything in my life... but i really had to control myself when it came to this tandem bike. wouldn't we look great on this, Em?

Berlin was amazing. An absolute highlight of my trip even just for its architecture. It seems that this city really understands aesthetics and the importance of visually stimulating surroundings as it continues to rebuild itself.
I caught Berlin on one of its first warm weeks this year and It seemed everyone was out and about either in the many different parks that the city has with their sun dresses and straw hats, or enjoying the well thought out coffee shops on almost every corner just as much as I was.
Emily Barton is not our name. Don't call us that, or do, we're pretty laid back. We only want to add lovely pictures & ideas to your life and to ours subsequently.
We talk about fashion and being gluten-free/vegan. We think food & fashion should & can exist together in a perfect world. Like peanut butter & jelly. Hall & Oates. Chicken and the chicken container.
Love you, mean it.
